TDF China Research is a research firm with a focus on China. We are specialized in defense, automotive, the Belt & Road Initiative, and the South China Sea. We also know lots about China’s adventures in Africa and the Caribbean.
CEO & founder Tycho de Feijter lived 16 years in China. He worked for the Dutch embassy in Beijing, first at the economic department and then at the defense department. In 2010 he founded CarNewsChina.com, which became the largest English-language news website about the Chinese automotive industry.
In 2019 De Feijter returned to the Netherlands with his family and started working for various think tanks, while continuing his automotive business. TDF China Research is a new company that combines all these activities.
